I HEREBY notify for general information that I have appointed
Mr. James McCabe
to be keeper of the Russell Public Pound.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
By His Honor Fredk. Whitaker,
Esq., Superintendent of the
Province of Auckland.
Under and in pursuance of the powers vested in me in that behalf by “The Impounding Act, 1866,” of the Local Legislature of the Province of Auckland, I, Frederick Whitaker, Esquire, Superintendent of the said Province, do hereby notify that every one of the Keepers of the Public Pounds situate within the said Province is authorised to demand and receive the following fees and charges for and in respect of the several matters and things hereinafter specified, that is to say:
I.—Poundage Fees.

| " Bull, Cow, Ox, Steer, Heifer, or Calf | 2 6 |
| Ram, Ewe, Wether, or Lamb | 0 2 |
| —For the first twenty | 0 2 |
| The next thirty | 0 1½ |
| The next fifty | 0 1 |
| All others above 100 | 0 0½ |
| Boar, Sow, or other pig | 1 0 |
| Goat or Kid | 1 0 |
The above fees to be paid for each day, or part of a day, during which the animal is kept in pound.
II.—Charges for Food.

The above charges to be paid for each day, or part of a day, during which the animal is supplied with food and water by the Pound-keeper, but the owner may supply food and water, in which case these charges are not to be made.
III.—Charges for giving notice of Impounding.
The charge for giving notice of the impounding of Cattle to the owner thereof or his agent shall be computed at the rate of one shilling for every mile or part of a mile of the distance between the public pound and the usual place of residence of such owner or agent, as the case may be.
IV.—Charges for giving public notice under the 20th Section of the said Act of the Impounding of Cattle.

NEW TOLL-GATES, GREAT SOUTH ROAD.
NOTICE is hereby given, in terms of Clause 5 of “The Turnpike Act, 1866,” of the erection of New Toll-bars and Gates at Otahuhu, and also at the Slippery Creek Bridge, near Drury, and that tolls will be levied at those Gates respectively on and after the 11th day of June, 1866.
