THE following notice of appointment is reprinted from the General Government Gazette for public information.

Wellington, 19th March 1866.
His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint
WILLIAM MILLS, Esq.,
Collector of Customs at Auckland, to be a Licensing Officer under the provisions of the “Arms Act, 1860.”
This appointment dates from the first day of January, 1866.

To ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL come, Greeting.
WHEREAS by the “Auckland Municipal Police Act, 1866,” it is enacted that the Superintendent of the Province of Auckland may from time to time, by public notice in the Provincial Government Gazette, appoint such persons or public body as he shall think fit to be the local authority in the said Act referred to for any city, town, or other place to which the said Act shall be applicable, and may alter and revoke any such appointment:
Now know ye, that I, the Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, in pursuance of the power and authority in me vested by the said Act, do hereby appoint the City Board of Commissioners of the City of Auckland to be for the purposes of the said Act the local authority for the said City of Auckland.
Given under my hand, this 13th day of April, in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and sixty-six.

Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.
UNDER and in pursuance of the powers vested in me in that behalf by the “Impounding Act, 1856,” of the Local Legislature of the Province of Auckland, I hereby appoint
Those premises situate at the North Shore, in the occupation of Mr. Samuel Cochrane, and adjoining the property of Mr. Edward Hall, Storekeeper
to be and be used as a Public Pound for the purposes of the said Act.
Given under my hand at Auckland, this ninth day of April, in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and sixty-six.
