Wellington, February 24th, 1866.

The notice published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 15th November, 1862, promising an additional reward of five pounds (£5) for the apprehension of any deserter from Her Majesty’s military and naval forces in this Colony is hereby cancelled.

Colonial Secretary’s Office,
Wellington, February 28th, 1866.

Sir,

Adverting to the Circular No. 4 of the 8th instant, I have to inform your honor, that Collectors of Customs have been instructed with reference to the Order in Council of the 19th ultimo, to allow the importation of Cattle, as well as sheep, provided they are duly certified by the inspector, under the Diseased Cattle Act, as free from contagious or infectious disease.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Crown Lands Office,
Auckland, 19th March, 1866.

HEREBY notify that the Run described below has been claimed by William Butler:—

Situation—Mongonui, County of Mongonui.
Boundaries—On the north by the sea; on the East by the Whakapuku Block; on the south by a line; and on the west by old land claims of Lloyd, Thomas, and Phillips.

Estimated Extent—4,000 acres.
Number and Description of Stock upon the Run (to commence with)—70 head great cattle.
