THE following Bill is published, previously to its introduction into the Provincial Council, in accordance with the provisions of the “Diversion of Roads Act, 1863.”

ROAD ACT, 1865

IN THE TWENTY-EIGHTH YEAR OF THE REIGN OF HER MAJESTY QUEEN VICTORIA.

SESSION XVIII., 1865.

A BILL to close up certain Roads in the Province of Auckland to authorise the issue of Crown Grants for the Land occupied by such Roads and to open up new Lines of Road in lieu thereof.

WHEREAS it is expedient to close up the various roads referred to in Schedule A to this Act annexed and to open up new lines of Road in lieu of such Roads respectively over the lands described in Schedule B to this Act annexed. And whereas the respective Roads to be closed up pass through the respective lands of the various persons whose names are set forth in said Schedule A and it is expedient to authorise the issue of Crown grants in fee simple of the lands occupied by the Roads so to be closed to the various persons named in the said Schedule A as the owners of the adjoining lands and to their heirs or assignees in lieu of the respective parcels of land described in the said Schedule B hereto annexed.

BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the Superintendent of the Province of Auckland with the advice and consent of the Provincial Council thereof as follows:—

  1. From and after the passing of this Act the Roads or parts of Roads mentioned in Schedule A to this Act annexed shall be closed.
