AND WHEREAS the land mentioned and described in the said Schedule B is the property of the said William Hampton Thorp and Edward Joseph Thorp who have consented that the same should be laid out as a Public Highway upon having the land occupied by the present Road as described in Schedule A annexed to this Act conveyed to them the said William Hampton Thorp and Edward Joseph Thorp their heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns upon the trusts and for the ends, intents and purposes upon and for which the remaining or other portions of the allotments mentioned in the schedules hereto annexed are held according to the terms of the “Diversion of Roads Act, 1863.”
BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the Superintendent of the Province of Auckland by and with the advice of the Provincial Council thereof as follows :
I. From and after the passing of this Act the said Road mentioned and described in the Schedule A to this Act annexed shall be closed.
II. It shall be lawful for his Excellency the Governor of New Zealand to grant the land occupied by the said Road to the said William Hampton Thorp and Edward Joseph Thorp their heirs, executors, administrators and assigns upon the trusts and for the ends, intents and purposes upon and for which the remaining or other portions of the allotments mentioned in the Schedule hereunto annexed are held by the said William Hampton Thorp and Edward Joseph Thorp.
III. From and after the passing of this Act the land mentioned and described in Schedule B to this Act shall be opened as a new line of Road and the same shall for ever thereafter be used as and be a Public Highway.
IV. The Short Title of this Act shall be “The Road Act No. 186”

A Road One Hundred Links in width and Two Thousand Eight Hundred and Seventy Links in length running from the Wairoa River to the Road leading to Papakura through allotments numbers Sixteen and Nine of the Parish of Wairoa bounded towards the north by part of said allotment Number Nine Eight Hundred Links towards the north-west and west by part of said allotment Number Nine
