PURSUANT to the powers vested in me by the second clause of the "Highways Act, 1862," I do hereby declare that the lands comprised within the several boundaries hereunder described shall be a district under the said Act and that such district shall be known by the name thereto prefixed, that is to say,—

THE LOWER MAHURANGI DISTRICT.

All those lands lying between the centre of the road, commencing at the Creek which forms the Northern boundary of Lot No. 98 of the Parish of Mahurangi to Hepburn’s Creek on the West side of Mahurangi Harbour and Duck Creek, and the Northern boundary of the Matakana Township on the East side of Mahurangi Harbour to the sea, thence by the sea and Mahurangi Harbour to the head of the Puka-puka river, thence by the Southern boundaries of lots Nos. 140, 148, and 149 of the Parish of Mahurangi, and thence by the Western boundaries of allotments Nos. 149, 150, 151, 153, 157, 163, 158, 164, 165, and 98 of the Parish of Mahurangi, including all roads traversing the lands within the before mentioned boundaries.

Given under my hand at Auckland, this twentieth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-four.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

By Robert Graham, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

UNDER and in pursuance of the powers vested in the Superintendent in that behalf, I hereby notify for public information that all those pieces or parcels of land enumerated in the Schedule hereunder written will be offered for sale at Twelve o’clock noon, at the Waste Lands Office, at Auckland, on Monday, the 23rd day of January, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-five, as General Country Land.

Given under my hand at Auckland, in the said Province, this Twenty-third day of December One thousand eight hundred and sixty-five.
