PROCLAMATION.

By ROBERT GRAHAM, Esquire,
Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

WHEREAS, by the “Thistle Act, 1858,” it was amongst other things enacted that it should be lawful for the Superintendent of the Province of Auckland from time to time by Proclamation in the Provincial Government Gazette, to declare that the said Act should come into operation within any District, and thereby to proclaim the limits of the District.

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the powers and authority in me vested, I, the said Superintendent, do hereby proclaim and declare that the said “Thistle Act, 1858,” shall, on and after the first day of July next, come into operation within the Waiwera District, and the limits of the said District shall be—

On the North the Pakapuka and the Ahuroa Block, on the West a line direct from the South-West angle of the Ahuroa Block to the Flat-topped mountain and the Wai-toke stream, to the Great North Road on the South-East, the Great North Road and the Southern boundary of the Parakakau Block and the Wainui Block to the Orewa River and on the East the sea.

Given under my hand, at Auckland, in the said Province, the 27th day of July, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-three.

I DO hereby appoint the undermentioned persons to be Sub-Inspectors of Thistles in the following respective Districts, with power to serve Notices and to enter upon all lands therein, in accordance with the 4th and 9th clauses of “The Thistle Act, 1858,” —

  • Carlton Hollis James Hill.—Mahurangi and Waiwera.
  • William Davis.—North Shore and Wangaparaoa.
  • James Baird Hay.—Drury, Waikato, and Waiora.
  • Joseph Bycroft.—Mount Albert and Ka-rangahape.

PROCLAMATION.

By ROBERT GRAHAM, Esquire,
Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, in the Colony of New Zealand.

WHEREAS by the “Diseased Cattle Act, 1861,” it was provided that the Governor in Council might by Warrant under his hand, from time to time, delegate to the Superintendent of any Province within the Colony of New Zealand, all or any of the powers vested in the Governor, or Governor in Council, by the said Act, subject to such regulations as he might think fit; and might from time to time rescind such delegation:

And whereas the said Governor did with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of New Zealand, delegate to John Williamson, Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.
