and after the first day of May next, come into operation within the Mangonui District, and the limits of the said District shall be on the North, the Oruru River and Taipa Creek; on the East, the Sea; on the South, the Wangaroa Harbour; and on the West, a direct line from the western extremity of the Wangaroa Harbour to the source of the Oruru River.
Given under my hand at Auckland, in the said Province, this twenty-ninth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and sixty two.

THISTLE ACT.
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

I HEREBY notify that I have appointed Mr. G. W. Bradley to enter upon any land situated within the “Mangonui District,” for the purpose of ascertaining the existence of any noxious Thistles therein, and eradicating or destroying the same.

BYE-LAWS FOR THE YEAR 1862.
At a Meeting of the Wardens for the Hundred of Panmure, held on Tuesday 12th February, 1862, it was resolved as follows:—
That all Bye-laws heretofore in force in the said Hundred be repealed, and the following substituted instead:—

That each Licensee-holder be allowed to run six head of Great Cattle, three head of Small Cattle, being under eighteen months old, to be considered equivalent to one head of Great Cattle. Foals not to reckon as stock until twelve months old, then to be considered as one head of Great Cattle until two years old, when they will rate as Horses. One Horse to reckon as two head of Great Cattle.

Pigs found on the run without being rung, the owner to pay the sum of Two Shillings and Sixpence, and for every time so offending.

Any person found worrying Cattle with dogs within the Hundred, shall pay for every such offence the sum of Two Pounds Sterling, exclusive of the amount for any damage done to such Cattle, which may be recovered by the owner thereof.

No person shall be allowed to run an Entire beast within the Hundred, under a penalty of One Pound Sterling for the first offence, and for every subsequent offence Two Pounds Sterling.

That the owners of all Cattle found trespassing on the Hundred, shall pay for every head of such Cattle the sum of Ten Shillings in addition to the poundage fees.

Any Sheep found trespassing on the run shall be impounded, and the owner shall pay the sum of Three Pence each head, in addition to the poundage fees.
