I HEREBY notify for general information that I have appointed

Mr. Francis Charles Lewis

to be Inspector of Sheep for the Auckland Sheep District, vice Joseph Lawry Vercoe, dismissed.

THISTLE ACT.

Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, October 3, 1862.

I HEREBY notify for general information that I have appointed

Mr. Francis Charles Lewis

to enter upon any land situated within the "Auckland District," the "Auckland Northern District," and in the "Drury and Waikato District," for the purpose of ascertaining the existence of any noxious thistles therein, and eradicating or destroying the same.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

PURSUANT to the powers vested in me by the second clause of the "Highways Act, 1862," I do hereby declare that the lands comprised within the several boundaries hereunder described, shall be a district under the said Act, and that such district shall be known by the name thereto prefixed, that is to say,—

The District of Waipu;

all those lands, bounded on the North by the Ruakaka Block; on the North-west by the Mata Block; on the West and South-west by the Ruarangi, Maungateru, and Piroa Blocks; on the South by the Pukekaroro Block and native land, to where the said native land joins the North-west angle of Mr. Henry’s section;
