PROCLAMATION.

By John Williamson, Esquire,
Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, in the Colony of New Zealand.

WHEREAS by an Act made and passed in the twenty-first year of the reign of Her Majesty Queen Victoria, intituled “The Auckland Waste Land Act, 1858,” it is among other things enacted that it should be lawful for the Superintendent by proclamation to declare that a certain Block of Land therein described, should be set apart and reserved for certain Immigrants expected to arrive from the United Kingdom, or elsewhere, other than the Australian Colonies.

Now, therefore, pursuant to the authority vested in me in that behalf, I, the Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, do hereby proclaim and declare that all that Block of Land known as Puke-Karoro, in the Parish of Kaiwaka, containing 8,458 acres, shall be reserved and set apart for certain Immigrants expected to arrive from the United Kingdom.

Given under my hand, at Auckland, this twenty-fourth day of September, in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty-nine.

Now, therefore, pursuant to the authority vested in me in that behalf, I, the Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, do hereby proclaim and declare that all that portion of Hikurangi situated in the Parish of Waitakerei in the County of Eden containing 7,500 acres, and bounded on the North East by the Hikurangi Road, on the South East by a line bearing South 52° 50′ West on the South West by the Piha Native Reserve and the sea, and on the North West by the Waitakerei Native Reserve and John Kelly’s claim, shall be reserved and set apart for certain Immigrants expected to arrive from the United Kingdom.

Given under my hand, at Auckland, this twenty-fourth day of September, in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty-nine.
