Land Sales and Wharf Regulations




PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

By JOHN WILLIAMSON, Esquire,
Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

UNDER and in pursuance of the powers vested in the Superintendent in that behalf by the "Auckland Waste Land Act, 1858," I hereby notify for public information that all those pieces or parcels of land enumerated in the Schedule hereunder written, will be open for sale on and after the 3rd day of October, 1859, as "General Country Lands," under the "Waste Land Act, 1858."

Given under my hand, at Auckland, this 23rd day of August, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-nine.

QUEEN-STREET WHARF.

Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, August 3rd, 1859.

IN pursuance of the authority vested in me by the "Wharf Regulations Act, 1858," I have made the following Regulations with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, and I hereby give notice that the same will come into operation at the expiration of one month after a copy thereof shall have been published in the Provincial Government Gazette.

  1. If any vessel shall be hauled alongside the Wharf or Jetty known as the Queen-street Wharf without the master or owner thereof having first obtained permission from the Harbour-Master or Wharfinger; or being alongside the Wharf shall be hauled off without giving due notice thereof, either to the said Harbour-Master or to the said Wharfinger, the master of such vessel shall be liable for every such offence to forfeit and pay a penalty not exceeding £20.

  2. The master of every vessel hauling alongside the Wharf shall, if required, lay out an anchor or anchors (well buoyed) as directed by the Harbour-Master or Wharfinger, and make fast to the Wharf as may be directed by the Harbour-Master or Wharfinger, or in default thereof be liable for every such offence to forfeit and pay a penalty not exceeding £20.

  3. The Master owner or any other person in charge of any vessel so moored who shall refuse to slack down any Bower or Stream Chain or any warp, or line, or to get in any anchor, or to rig in any boom, strike any yard or topmast or furl or lower any sail when so ordered by the Harbour Master or Wharfinger, shall for every such offence be liable to forfeit and pay a penalty not exceeding £20.

  4. The Master or Owner of every vessel occupying a berth alongside the said Wharf, shall pay for the said vessel the sum of 2d. a ton for every day the said vessel shall so occupy the said berth, and the Master or owner of every vessel not being registered occupying a berth alongside the said Wharf, shall pay for the said vessel the sum of 2d. a ton.
