PROVISIONS FOR PROVINCIAL HOSPITAL AND LUNATIC ASYLUM.

The articles to be delivered at the Hospital and Lunatic Asylum, at the expense of the Contractor, and to be subject to the approval of the Provincial Surgeon as to quality.

Tea and sugar No. 1 Company's at per lb.
Oatmeal at per lb.
Treacle
Arrowroot, fine flour
Pearl barley
Sago, suet
Rice, tobacco at per lb.
Salt, pepper
Soap, whiting
Mixed vegetables
Mould candles
Eggs per dozen
Fowls each
Brandy, port wine, sherry at per two gallons
Porter, gin, ale
Milk, and vinegar at per quart
Oil, sperm at per gallon
Cotton wick per lb.
Straw at per ton of 2240 lbs.

Samples of the tea, sugar, and candles, to be submitted with the tenders.

Information may be obtained from the Provincial Surgeon.

CONDITIONS.

Samples of the various articles will have to be submitted for inspection if required.

The Contractors will be required to deliver the different supplies from time to time at such places, and in such quantities, as may be indicated by the Superintendent.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any of the tenders sent in.

Payment for any of the above supplies will be made at the end of each month.

Tenders to be sealed and endorsed “Tender for supply of (name of article).” In the event of a difference of opinion between the Contractor and the Officer receiving the supplies, the same is to be decided, in cases where the article is not of a perishable nature, by a Board of Survey composed of persons named by the Government. If the Board shall decide that the article is not of a proper quality it must be immediately replaced by the Contractor, failing which it will be procured by the department requiring it, and the expense charged to the Contractor.

In cases where the article is of a perishable nature, or in which, from some other cause, injury would be sustained by waiting for a board of survey, the head of the department, or officer in charge, for whom the supplies are to be received, shall have power to reject any article of a quality inferior to the approved sample, and to purchase others at the expense of the Contractor.


Tenders (forms of which may be obtained at this Office) to contain the names and places of residence, at length, of the persons tendering, and to be signed by two respectable sureties, engaging to become bound in a penalty of £10 for the fulfillment of the contract if the tender be accepted.

TENDERS will be received at this Office until Monday, the 27th September, inst., for the supply of the undermentioned articles, for the use of the Mount Eden Stockade.

  • 30 Rugs
  • 60 pairs Duck Trousers
  • 60 Cotton Shirts
  • 30 blue Serge Shirts
  • 30 Woollen Caps
  • 9 yards Towelling

Samples of each article to accompany the tenders.

Particular information may be obtained from the Gaoler.

GREAT NORTH ROAD.

Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, 21st September, 1858.

TENDERS will be received at this Office until noon of Monday, the 4th October next, for the erection of 3 Bridges on that portion of the above line of road between Oakley’s Creek and Henderson’s Mill.

Plan and specification can be seen on application at the Roads Office, where printed forms on which tenders are required to be sent in, may be obtained.

Tender to be sealed, and endorsed “Tender for Bridges, Great North Road.”

GREAT NORTH ROAD.

Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, 6th Sept., 1858.

TENDERS will be received at this Office until noon of Monday the 4th October next, for the construction of such Bridges as may be required on that portion of the above line of Road extending from the Puhoi river to the Kaipara Flats.

Plan and specification can be seen on application at the Roads Office, where printed forms on which tenders are required to be sent in, may be obtained.
