PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

By JOHN WILLIAMSON, Esquire,
Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

UNDER and in pursuance of the powers vested in me in that behalf by the "Impounding Act, 1856," of the Local Legislature of the Province of Auckland, I hereby appoint

Those premises situate at Otahuhu, abutting on the Great South Road, and separated by a passage from the Stock-yard of Mr. John Hall,

to be and be used as a Public Pound for the purposes of the said Act.

Given under my hand at Auckland, the 17th day of August, in the year one thousand eight hundred and fifty eight.

THE Contractor for performing the Hospital and Lunatic Asylum Washing, having given the necessary notice of his intention to discontinue his contract, tenders are invited and will be received at this Office until noon of Thursday, 26th instant, for the Washing required to be done for those Institutions during the four months ending 31st December, 1858.

QUEEN-STREET MAIN SEWER.

Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, August 19th, 1858.

TENDERS will be received at this Office until noon on Monday, the 15th of November next, for the construction of a portion of the Main Sewer in Queen-street. Plans and specifications of the work to be performed may be seen by applying at this office on and after Monday next.

NOTICE TO MARINERS.

Auckland, 28th July, 1858.

NOTICE is hereby given (referring more particularly to Masters of Coasters and Boatmen,) that an Iron Beacon, surmounted by a circular cage, has been erected on the N.E. extreme or angle of the Reef off the West Tamaki Head, diverging to the Southward until it meets the Head, and to the Westward in a line with the North Head; is covered at half-tide, and has one and a half fathoms water close to, at low tide, with the following marks and compass bearings, viz:

Beacon,
White house and Barn (Wheeler’s) on the East bank of the river, open of the first point inside the Head ... S. E. by E.
