Sir,—Having heard this day that the situa-
tion of Clerk in the Resident Magistrate’s
Court has become vacant, the nomination to
which rests with your Honor, I beg leave to
offer myself as a Candidate for the appointment,
my time being wholly unoccupied, and I am
anxious to obtain employment under the Go-

for 9 years, the welfare and prosperity of which
naturally deeply interest me.
As I have not the good fortune to be per-

in the event of my request being favorably con-

as to character and capacity as will I trust be
found satisfactory.

Clerk in the Resident Magistrate’s Court,
Auckland, is vacant, I beg most respectfully to
apply for the situation, and in support of my
pretensions, beg to state that I have held the

caused by the resignation of Mr. Barry,
and requesting me to recommend for
appointment the “one whom I consider

by the Clerks in this Court are difficult and
onerous, and can only be accomplished by per-
sons of considerable experience, I beg to propose,
that Mr. Piercy perform the duties of Chief
Clerk and Interpreter, Mr. Sanders those of
second Clerk, and that Mr. Barry’s successor be
appointed third Clerk.
