Public Pound, 27th August, 1855.

IMPOUNDED at the Public Pound, Hundred of Auckland, Newmarket, by Mr. Peaisy, for trespassing in an enclosed Paddock of potatoes at the Tamaki—

1 White Cow and Calf, with black spots, no brand.

If not claimed to be sold at the Public Pound, at noon on Monday, the 24th September next, agreeable to the Impounding Ordinance, Vic. 11, Sess. 8, No. 6.

HARBOUR BYE LAWS.

Amendment to Waterman’s Bye Laws passed by the Harbour Committee on the eleventh day of July one thousand eight hundred and fifty-five.

AMENDMENT TO BYE LAW NO. 6.

1st. That the line for short fares already fixed be from the South shore of the Harbour between a line from Wynyard Pier to the White beach as an eastern boundary and a line from the Roman Catholic Chapel to Onopolo Point as a west boundary to Mid channel but that boats starting from Wynyard Pier shall be bound to go east to a line from St. Barnabas Church to the opposite cliff and the limits within the aforesaid lines for the ordinary fares be called No. 1.

2nd. That outside the said limits to within a line drawn from east point of Cooper’s Bay to opposite head of the east end of White beach as the east line and a line from Acheron Point also to Onopolo Point as the west line to any vessel situated within the said limits the charge to be one half in addition to the short limit fare—and on occasion of bad weather when a second hand is taken to within either limits one shilling extra going and sixpence extra returning for each individual otherwise chargeable together with two shillings and sixpence additional rate per hour in addition to the charge fixed for delay on board of any vessel—the fares to any other part or to the North shore may be regulated by agreement between passengers and the watermen.

Signed and Sealed according to the Auckland Harbour Act in the presence and by order of the Committee of the Auckland Harbour Commissioners on the Eighth day of August one thousand eight hundred and fifty-five.
