Lands withdrawn from Goldfields, Province of Westland.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it is enacted by the forty-eighth section of The Goldfields Act, 1866, that any district proclaimed or to be proclaimed a goldfield shall not be subject to any provisions of any Waste Lands Act or any other law for the time being in force regulating the sale, disposal, and occupation of Crown lands within the province in which such goldfield is situated, except so far as such provisions may relate to the granting of mineral leases, or the issue of leases or licenses for any of the following purposes:—Cutting and felling of timber; raising of lignite or coal; removal of clay for bricks and pottery; removal of sand, gravel, and stone; working of quarries; sites for sawmills, flourmills, tanneries, fellmongers’ yards, slaughter yards, piggeries; and brick kilns; or to the occupation of land under any depasturing lease or license granted before the issue of the Proclamation establishing such goldfield, or to land theretofore or which thereafter may be reserved for any public use or purpose; or except so far as such provisions may specially authorize the sale or leasing of land within a goldfield: Provided that it shall be lawful for the Governor, at any time subsequent to the proclamation of a goldfield, to...
