THE following Regulation of the Council
of the Borough of Hokitika has been
forwarded to His Honor the Superintendent,
who directs it to be notified that he does not
intend to exercise his power of disallowance
with respect to it. It is published for
general information under the 192nd Clause
of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1867.”

CORPORATION OF THE BOROUGH OF HOKITIKA.
Byelaw to compel all vehicles passing
through the Borough to be provided with
proper lights after sunset and before sunrise.
Byelaw of the Council of the Borough of
Hokitika, made under special order of
the said Council, dated the twenty-eighth day of May, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-five, and sealed
with the common Seal of the Council
of the said Borough.
In pursuance of Section 186 of “The
Municipal Corporations Act, 1867,” the
Council of the Borough of Hokitika ordain as
follows that is to say:—
The owner of every hackney carriage,
Borough stage carriage, cart, dray, velocipede,
or other vehicle passing through the Borough
after sunset and before sunrise shall cause the
same to be provided with proper lamps and
the driver or conductor of such vehicle shall
keep the same properly lighted while such
vehicle shall be so used, and every owner
driver or conductor of any such vehicle as
aforesaid offending against this Byelaw shall
forfeit a sum not exceeding Forty Shillings.
All Byelaws and Regulations inconsistent
with or repugnant to this Byelaw are hereby
repealed.
Passed by the Council of the Borough
of Hokitika this twenty-eighth day
of May, one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-five.
