Governor, by and with the advice and con-
sent of the Executive Council of the Colony
of New Zealand, did delegate to me, James
Alexander Bonar, Superintendent of the
Province of Westland, all the powers
vested in the Governor under or by virtue of
the "Gold Fields Act, 1866," except the
powers conferred by Sections twenty-two,
forty, forty-eight, sixty, ninety-six, and one
hundred and seven of the said Act, to have,
hold, and exercise within the Province of
Westland the said powers hereby given to
the said James Alexander Bonar, so long as
he shall continue and remain Superintendent
of the said Province and no longer: Pro-
vided always that copies of all rules and
regulations made under the delegation afore-
said shall be forthwith transmitted to the
General Assembly, in order that the same
may be laid before the General Assembly in
accordance with the provisions of the one
hundred and tenth Clause of the "Gold

And whereas it is expedient that regula-
tions should be made for collecting such
tolls and for preventing the evasion thereof,
and generally for the control and manage-
ment of such ferries.
Now therefore, I, James Alexander Bonar,
Superintendent of the Province of West-
land, in exercise and pursuance of the powers
vested in and delegated to me in this behalf,
do hereby give notice that I make the fol-

and for preventing the evasion thereof, and
generally for the control and management
of all such ferries within the Province of
Westland.
Given under my hand, at Hokitika,
this 22nd day of April, 1874.
J. A. BONAR.
