Public Notice.

Wellington, May 8, 1873.
IT is hereby notified for public information, that under the provisions of “The Public Health Act, 1872,” His Excellency the Administrator of the Government has been pleased to appoint the undermentioned gentlemen (being Registrars of Births) to be Vaccination Inspectors under the said Act, for the respective districts mentioned in the Schedule hereto, and set opposite their names therein.

Purpose for which “Original Reserve,” County Westland, was made, changed.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this seventh day of May, 1873.
Present:
His Excellency the Administrator of the Government in Council.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Waste Land Regulations then in force in the Province of Canterbury, Samuel Bealey, Esquire, then being the Superintendent of the said Province, by a notice dated the fifteenth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-five, published in the Government Gazette of the said Province on the twenty-first day of September in the same year, temporarily made a reserve of a parcel of land at Hokitika, containing fifty-seven acres, more or less (numbered 451 in red), for a public common: And whereas on the first day of December, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-five, the Provincial Council of the said Province, by a resolution, confirmed and adopted the making of the said reserve: And whereas the said reserve is now subject to the provisions of “The Westland Waste Lands Act, 1870,” and by the said Act it is amongst other things enacted that reserves heretofore or thereafter to be made of Waste Lands shall be managed and administered by the Governor in Council: And it is also enacted that the specified purposes for which any such reserves shall be held may be changed, and any such reserves may be leased, mortgaged, or sold, either in whole or in part, by the Governor in Council, as therein provided: And whereas it is expedient that the purposes of such reserve should be changed, and that the same should be otherwise dealt with as herein mentioned:
Now therefore, His Excellency Sir George Alfred Arney, the Officer Administering the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the hereinbefore in part recited Act, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Colony, doth hereby order that the purpose for which the said reserve was originally made (hereinafter called the “original reserve”) shall be changed, to the intent that the parcel of land described in the Schedule hereto shall, under the provisions of the said Act, be made a reserve for the purposes of a Public Cricket Ground, and that the residue of such original reserve shall be sold as hereinafter mentioned: Provided that before such change shall take effect, the Waste Lands Board of the County of Westland shall publish at least two calendar months’ notice thereof in The Westland Gazette:
And in further pursuance and exercise of the power and authority aforesaid, and by and with the like advice and consent as aforesaid, it is ordered that the residue of the said original reserve remaining after the creation of the so-intended reserve for a public cricket ground shall be sold, and that the time, place, and conditions of such sale shall be fixed by
