SCHEDULE—ARNOLD BRIDGE.

For every foot passenger ... 0 6
For every horse with or without load or rider ... 1 6
For every vehicle drawn by one horse ... 2 0
For every extra horse ... 1 0
For every head of large cattle ... 0 6
For every sheep, goat or pig ... 0 1

Double the above rates will be charged between the hours of ten o'clock at night and five in the morning.

Government officers on duty, and persons and vehicles conveying Her Majesty's Mails (not passengers)—Free.

NOTE.—This Proclamation supersedes that published in the County of Westland Gazette, No. 28, of the 26th November, 1872.

In pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by sections 11 and 12 of an Ordinance passed by the Provincial Council of Canterbury intituled “The Trespass of Cattle Ordinance Session XIV., No. 1,” I hereby proclaim the Newmarket Yard, situate and adjoining the public highway at Arahura, to be a Public Pound within the meaning of such Ordinance, and I further appoint

Mr. W. W. Hawkins
to be Poundkeeper thereof for the purposes of the said Ordinance.

Advertisements in The County of Westland Gazette will be charged for according to the following scale:

For every 72 words and under, 6s.
Tabular matter double the above rate.

In all cases where figures are required each figure counts as a word.

All advertisements must be sent to the County Chairman’s Office, and at the same time pre-payment (by money-order when necessary) according to the above rates must be made.
