HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint

EDWARD HARDCASTLE, ESQ.,

to be Deputy Registrar at Hokitika of the Supreme Court.

IN pursuance of the power and authority vested in me for that purpose by “The Westland Waste Lands Act, 1870,” I do hereby determine that the Township of Kokotahi, in the County of Westland, as the same is defined by a Proclamation made the twentieth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-one, shall be surveyed and divided into sections containing half an acre each; and that such sections shall be sold as in manner directed by the said Act, at the upset price of ten pounds per acre; the size of such sections and the upset price thereof hereby determined being fixed in accordance with the recommendation of the County Council of the said County, as expressed in a Resolution passed by that body on the twenty-eighth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and seventy.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir George Ferguson Bowen, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued at Wellington, this fifth day of July, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two.

THE following Reserves have been made by the Governor, under clauses 22 and 23 of “The Westland Waste Lands Act, 1870.”

In pursuance and exercise of the power and authority in me vested in this behalf by “The Westland Waste Lands Act, 1870,” I hereby reserve the lands in the County of Westland, the boundaries whereof are described in the Schedule hereunto annexed, for the uses of the Colonial Government and other public purposes, as in the said Schedule are more particularly specified.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir George Ferguson Bowen, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same, at Wellington, this fifth day of July, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two.

Lot No. sixty-nine (69) (in red), containing two roods one perch, more or less, situate in the Town of Stafford, bounded on the Northward by Owen Street, one hundred and sixty-five (165) links; on the Eastward by Scandinavian Street, three hundred and eight (308) links; on the Southward by sections 74, 73, and 72, one hundred and sixty-five (165) links; and on the Westward by section 72, a right of way, and section 121, three hundred and eight (308) links.—For the uses of the Roman Catholic Church.

Lot No. seventy (70) (in red), containing fifteen perches, more or less, situate in the Town of Stafford, bounded on the Westward by High Street, forty (40) links; on the Northward by section 50, two hundred and fifty-one (251) links; on the Eastward by a right of way, thirty-nine (39) links; and on the Southward by section 52, two hundred and fifty-two (252) links. For the uses of the Arahura Road Board.

Lot No. seventy-one (71) (in red), containing one rood and twenty-four perches, more or less, situate in the Town of Stafford, bounded on the Westward by Church Street, two hundred (200) links; on the Northward by Church Lane, two hundred (200) links; on the Eastward by sections 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, and Reserve No. 72 (in red), two hundred (200) links; and on the South-
