ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At Wellington, this twenty-seventh day of January, 1871.

Present:
His Excellency THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by “The Bridges and Ferries Act 1868 Amendment Act, 1869,” it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor in Council, at the time of making any Proclamation bringing “The Bridges and Ferries Act, 1868,” into operation in any Province, or at any time thereafter, to delegate all or any of the powers by “The Bridges and Ferries Act, 1868,” vested in the Governor, and exercisable by him within the Province in such Proclamation mentioned, except the powers conferred by the second section of the said “Bridges and Ferries Act, 1868,” to the Superintendent of the Province in which the said Act shall be so brought into operation, or to any other person or persons, and such delegation from time to time to alter and revoke:

And whereas by a Proclamation bearing date the twenty-sixth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and seventy, His Excellency the Governor has declared that the said “Bridges and Ferries Act, 1868,” shall be in operation in the County of Westland on the said twenty-sixth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and seventy:

Now therefore, His Excellency the Governor, in exercise and pursuance of the powers vested in him by the said “Bridges and Ferries Act 1868 Amendment Act, 1869,” and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the Colony, doth hereby delegate to

HENRY HERMANN LAPMAN, Esq., Chairman of the County Council of Westland, all the powers by “The Bridges and Ferries Act, 1868,” vested in the Governor, and exercisable by him within the said County of Westland, except the powers conferred by the second section of the said Act.
