Now therefore, I, Henry Hermann Lahman, Chairman of the County Council of Westland, in exercise and pursuance of the powers vested in me do hereby revoke the said Proclamation of the eleventh day of November, 1870.

PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by "The Bridges and Ferries Act, 1868, Amendment Act, 1869," it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor in Council, at the time of making any Proclamation bringing "The Bridges and Ferries Act, 1868," into operation in any Province, or at any time thereafter, to delegate all or any of the powers by the said Act vested in the Governor and exercisable by him within the Province in such Proclamation mentioned, except the powers conferred by the second section of the said Act to the Superintendent of the Province, in which the said Act shall be so brought into operation, or to any other person or persons, and such delegation from time to time to alter and revoke:
And whereas by a Proclamation bearing date the twenty-sixth day of September, 1870, and published in The New Zealand Gazette, No. 54, of the 30th September, 1870, His Excellency the Governor has declared that the said "Bridges and Ferries Act, 1868," shall be in operation in the County of Westland on the twenty-sixth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and seventy:
And whereas by an Order in Council dated the twenty-seventh day of January, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-one, His Excellency the Governor, in pursuance of the powers vested in him by the said "Bridges and Ferries Act, 1868, Amendment Act, 1869," and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the Colony did delegate to me, Henry Hermann Lahman, Chairman of the County Council of Westland, except the powers conferred by the second section of the said Act:
Now therefore, I, Henry Hermann Lahman, Chairman of the County Council of Westland, in exercise and pursuance of the powers vested in me, do hereby proclaim that the bridge mentioned in the schedule hereto annexed shall be deemed to be a public bridge and ferry within the meaning of "The Bridges and Ferries Act, 1868," and that the persons mentioned in the said schedule shall be and they are hereby authorised to occupy the land and collect the tolls therein set forth, for the terms and upon the conditions in such schedule mentioned.

Double the above rates may be charged between the hours of ten o’clock at night and six o’clock in the morning.

All persons carrying Her Majesty’s mails under contract, and Government officers on duty, free.

The above tolls to be charged only one way each day.
PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS, by the twelfth section of "The Gold Fields Act, 1866," it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor, upon application being made, to grant special claims of greater area than may be determined by the regulations to be made under the eleventh section of the said Act, for the purpose of carrying on mining operations under circumstances of extraordinary difficulty, or involving the expenditure of considerable sums of money, or for the encouragement of enterprise in prospecting new ground, or as a reward for the discovery
