NOTICE is hereby given that pursuant to the 67th Section of "The County of Westland Act, 1868," the County Council will meet for the despatch of business at Hansen’s Assembly Rooms, Sewell Street, Hokitika, on Wednesday the 11th January, 1871, at the hour of twelve noon.

IT is hereby notified for general information that the following gentlemen have been elected Members of the County Council, for the several Electoral Districts set opposite their respective names.
Walter Scott Reid, Esq. Hokitika.
James Alexander Bonar, Esq. Hokitika.
Frank Guirmess, Esq. Greymouth.
Henry Herman Lahman Esq. Greymouth.
John O’Connor, Esq.; Paroa.
Edmund Barff, Esq.; Arahura.
Henry Lee Robinson, Esq.; Kanieri.
Charles Edward Button, Esq.; Totara.
Michael Scanlan, Esq.; Okarito.

BY virtue and in pursuance of the power and authority vested in me by "The County of Westland Act, 1868," and of every power and authority in this behalf enabling me, I, Sir George Ferguson Bowen, the Governor of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the following Polling Places for the Electoral Districts respectively hereinafter named, being the districts described in the Fourth Schedule to the said Act, that is to say:—
Hokitika District.
Resident Magistrate’s Court House, Hokitika.
Greymouth District.
Resident Magistrate’s Court House, Greymouth.
Paroa District.
Road Board Office, Paroa (Principal Polling Place).
Hamilton’s Store, Marsden.
Court House, Arnold.
Court House, Pounamu.
Court House, Clifton.
Arahura District.
Court House, Stafford, (Principal Polling Place).
Police Buildings, Goldsborough.
Keech’s Store, Chesterfield Road.
McFettrich’s Store, Callaghan’s.
Merritt’s Store, Fox’s.
Kanieri District.
Warden’s Court, Kanieri, (Principal Polling Place).
Mandle’s Store, Terminus Junction, Birchfield Paddock.
Gemmell’s Store, Blue Spur.

THE Government Offices will be closed on Saturday the 24th December, and Monday and Tuesday 26th, and 27th, December, also on Saturday the 31st December, 1870, and Monday and Tuesday, the 2nd, and 3rd, January 1871.
