Chaff, four shillings per 2,240 lbs.
Cattle, five shillings per head.
Dairy produce, bacon, beef, &c., two shillings and sixpence per 2,240 lbs.
Flour, two shillings per 2000 lbs.
Fruit (green), two shillings and sixpence per ton measurement.
Grain, two shillings per 40 bushels.
Horses, five shillings each.
Lime, two shillings per 2,240 lbs.
Machinery, three shillings per 2,240 lbs.
Mangold Wurtzel, two shillings per 2,240 lbs.
Onions, two shillings and sixpence per 2,240 lbs.
Potatoes, two shillings per 2,240 lbs.
Poultry, one shilling per dozen.
Palings, four shillings per thousand.
Sawn timber, sixpence per 1000 superficial feet.
Shingles, one shilling per 1000.
Sheep, sixpence each.
Pigs, one shilling each.
Slates, three shillings per 1000.
Turnips, two shillings per 2,240 lbs.
Vehicles (two wheeled), five shillings each.
Vehicles (four wheeled), ten shillings each.
Velocipedes included.
All other goods, two shillings and sixpence per ton.
All packages and parcels threepence each.

TONNAGE DUTIES.

On all sailing vessels, foreign, intercolonial, or coastwise from ports beyond the limits comprised between Cape Farewell and Milford Sound, one shilling per ton register, and all sailing vessels within the above limits, threepence per ton per trip.

On all coasting steamers, including those coming from ports within the above boundaries, sixpence per ton per trip.

On all inter-colonial steamers, when coming to the wharf, one shilling per ton per trip.

On all lighters trading to the offing, or on all tug-boats bringing in cargo from vessels in the offing, one shilling per ton measurement, for all cargo carried to the wharf.

On all tug-steamers a charge of threepence per ton on the registered tonnage of all vessels towed in by them.

A charge upon all steamers, bringing in or taking out passengers to and from the roadstead, at the rate of sixpence for each passenger.

Passed by the Council of the Borough of Hokitika, this eleventh day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy.
