No. 19 OF 1869.

TRUE POSITIONS OF STATIONS ON THE WEST COAST, MIDDLE ISLAND.

The following true positions of certain Stations on the West Coast of the Middle Island of New Zealand, which have been supplied by the Colonial Marine Surveyor and the Chief Surveyor of Westland, are published for general information.

It is hereby notified for general information that the geographical positions of the following stations have been determined geodesically from those found by the Colonial Marine Surveyor, the data being supplied by the Chief Surveyor of Westland.

In pursuance of the powers delegated to me by his Excellency the Governor, under "The Lunatics Act, 1868," I hereby appoint

Gerard George Fitzgerald, Esq., R.M.,
to be the Inspector of the Lunatic Asylum, situated on the Hospital Reserve, south side of the Hokitika River, and for the County of Westland, under the 52nd section of the said Act.

Given under my hand, at Hokitika, this sixteenth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine.

The undermentioned person has been appointed to maintain the Ferry at the Three Mile Creek, Okarito, under the 116th section of "The County of Westland Act, 1868," on the terms as stated below, and subject to the conditions under which ferries may be leased from the County Council, published in the County of Westland Gazette of the 13th March, No. 6.

THREE MILE FERRY.

William Henry Dixon.

  1. Protection granted for half a mile each side of the ferry except where the creek is fordable.

  2. Occupation authorised of available land immediately adjacent to the ferry.

  3. Term of protectionโ€”one year, with option of renewal; the right being reserved to the Okarito Road Board to erect a bridge at any time, and, in the event of such a work.

Erratum.โ€”In the County of Westland Gazette No. 17, of the 9th August, 1869, in page 103, in the date of the commencement of the protection to Messrs. Kilgour and Porotti, for "1889" read "1869."
