NOTE.—On 9th May, 1866, a Curator of Intestate Estates was appointed at Christchurch, for a District including the whole of the former Province of Canterbury. On 10th August, 1867, a Curator was appointed at Hokitika, for a District including the Judicial District of Westland, namely, the present County of Westland (formerly part of the Province of Canterbury), and the neighbouring part of the Province of Nelson, as far as Five Fingers Rocks and Mount Faraday. This District remains; and I was appointed Curator for it, in succession to Mr. E. W. Jones, on 7th April, 1869.
