IT is hereby notified for general information, that the Tender of Mr. Mark Sprot, for leasing the Toll-Gate at the Kawhaka, on the Overland Road, has been accepted for the twelve months commencing 1st July, 1869, at the rate of £42 per week.

UNDER the provisions of Clause XII. of "The Gold Fields Act, 1856," I hereby grant to Joshua Gibson and Party a Special Claim of ten acres, situated at Donoghue’s, in the Totara district, subject to the conditions contained in Clauses 21, 25, 26, 27, 29, and 30, of "The Gold-Mining Lease Regulations."

THE undermentioned person has been appointed to maintain the Ferry at the mouth of the Teremakau during the six months ending 31st December, 1869, under the 116th Section of "The County of Westland Act, 1868," on the terms stated below, and subject to the conditions under which Ferries may be leased from the County Council, published in the County of Westland Gazette of the 13th March. No. 6.

Protection allowed for half-a-mile from the point at which the boat starts.

IT is hereby notified that the Tender of Mr. Richard Campbell, for the Supply of Rations to the County Gaol, Hokitika, during the ensuing six months has been accepted at the following rates:—
Ration, No. 1.—Male, 8d. per ration.

—Female, 5¼d. "

4. ———— 6d. "
5. ———— 7½d. "
Allowance per lb.: bread, 2¼d per lb.; butter, 1s 3d per lb.; candles, 1s 2d per lb.; mustard, 1s per lb.; rice, 4d per lb.; sago, 8d per lb.; sugar, 6d per lb.; tea, 2s 6d per lb.; tobacco, 4s per lb.; washing-soda, 2½d per lb.; whiting, 2d per lb.; kerosene, 5s per gall.; brandy, 5s per bottle; gin, 4s 3d per bottle; port wine, 8s 3d per bottle; sherry, 8s 8d per bottle; porter, 14s 6d per dozen; ale, 12s per dozen; milk, 5d per pint.

NOTICE is hereby given that I, on behalf of the Proprietors of the Rutheglen Tramway Company, have this day made application, according to the regulations as gazetted March 24th, 1869, for protection for the period of ten years for a line of tramway from Paroa, passing through Rutheglen to Card’s Lower Store, on the New River.
Any person having any objections to prefer against the granting of such protection must forward the same in writing to the Chairman of the County Council within twenty-one days from the date of this notice.

TAKE NOTICE that I, the undersigned James Male, have this day sold all the one-third share and interest held by me, together with John Cashman and William Cashman, of and in the Totara Punt and the tolls and emoluments arising therefrom, unto John Cullinane, of Rosstown, miner: And further take notice that we, the undersigned John Cashman and William Cashman, acknowledge the said John Cullinane as the owner of one-third share in the said Totara Punt and emoluments arising therefrom.
In his own right; and to accept him in the place of the said James Male.
