HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint the undermentioned gentlemen to be Resident Magistrates, under “The Resident Magistrates Act, 1867,” for the districts set opposite their names, as the same are defined in a Proclamation of even date herewith, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the same date:—
GERARD GEORGE FITZGERALD, Esq., Hokitika District.
JUSTIN AYLMER, Esq., Hokitika District.
CHARLES COCKBURN SCHAW, Esq., Hokitika District.
WILLIAM HORTON REVELL, Esq., Greymouth District.
MICHAEL KEOGH, Esq., Greymouth District.

Hokitika, 21st May, 1869.
MONDAY, the 24th May, instant, being the Queen’s Birthday, will be observed as a public holiday.
The Government Offices will be closed.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me in that behalf, under the twenty-third section of “The Lunatics Act, 1868,” I hereby appoint
JOHN RUTHERFORD RYLEY, Esq.,
F.R.C.S., Edin.,
to be the Keeper, within the meaning of the said Act, of the Lunatic Asylum, situated in the Hospital Reserve, Hokitika.
Given under my hand, at Hokitika, this twenty-second day of May, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine.

PURSUANT to Section 13 of “The Gold Mining Claims Drainage Act, 1868,” I hereby publish for general information Bye-laws Nos. 1 and 2 of the Jones’s Flat Mining Drainage Board, under the powers delegated to me in that behalf by His Excellency the Governor.
