THE HONOURABLE JAMES A. BONAR directs it to be notified that he has appointed Friday, the 11th Instant, at the hour of Seven in the evening, at the Warden’s Court, Ross, to be the time and place where the first meeting of the Mining Drainage Board for the Jones’s Flat Mining Drainage District shall be held.

UNDER the provisions of Clause XII, of “The Gold Fields Act, 1866,” I hereby grant to “The Victorian Co-operative Gold Mining Company” a special claim of fourteen acres three roods and twenty perches, in lieu of that of twelve acres three roods and twenty perches, granted to the said company on the 2nd September, 1868. The claim is granted subject to the condition that ten additional men be constantly employed on the claim, in addition to whatever conditions may be in force at the date hereof on the previous claim.

IT is hereby notified for general information that

has been duly elected as a Member to serve in the Westland County Council for the Electoral District of Totara, under “The County of Westland Act, 1868.”

PROCLAMATION.

I, JAMES ALEXANDER BONAR, a Member of the Legislative Council of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance of the powers delegated to me under the provisions of “The Gold Fields Act, 1866,” do hereby notify that the protection granted to the bridges erected by Messrs. Aldrich, Boyle, and Thompson, across the Arahura River and the Lagoon on the North side of the Arahura River, is extended for a period of Twelve months from the Twentieth day of December, and that Tolls may be levied at rates not exceeding the undermentioned sums :-

For every foot passenger - 0 6
Horse, with or without rider or pack - 1 0
Vehicle drawn by one horse - 2 6
Extra horse to the vehicle - 0 6
Head of large cattle - 0 6
Sheep, goat, or pig - 0 1

Double the above rates may be charged between the hours of ten o’clock at night and six o’clock in the morning.

Government officers on duty - Free.

Given under my hand at Hokitika, this Eighth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.
