Commencing at a point on the mail road to Canterbury, the same being about 28 chains and 50 links of the twenty-first milepost; thence along the south side of the said road to a point opposite the western boundary of No. 42 (in red), thence on a bearing of 123° 30' (magnetic) for a distance of 27 chains, and on a bearing of 108° 30' (magnetic) for a distance of 28 chains to a creek, and down the said creek to the commencing point. For road purposes.

Situate on the south side of the Stafford direct road at a distance of four chains and seventy-four links from the beach, having a frontage of 500 links, and running back at right angles to the said road a distance of 971 links on the eastern side, and of 960 links on the western side. For Government purposes.
46 0 0 26 Situate on the Beach Road at a distance of one chain south of the Stafford Direct Road having a frontage of 69 links, and running back at right angles the distance of 243 links on the southern side, and 237 on the northern side. Warden's Residence.

IN exercise of the power and authority vested in me in that behalf by the Mining Lease Regulations for the County of Westland, I hereby declare that the leases mentioned in the Schedule hereto annexed are forfeited, the lessees having failed to execute the said leases within the time required by Section 16 of the said Regulations, and also having failed to show reasonable cause why such time should be extended.

WE, the undersigned, Commissioners of the Waste Lands Board of the County of Westland, in accordance with the provisions of Section 32 of the Regulations for the sale, letting, occupation, and management of the Waste Lands of the Crown, in the County of Westland, do hereby proclaim that the lands described in the schedule hereto annexed are open for sale.

Given under our hands at Hokitika, this Eleventh day of November, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.

IT is hereby notified that the writ which was issued for the election of a Member of the County Council for the District of the Town of Hokitika has been returned with a certificate to the effect that THOMAS LOCKYER BRIGHT has been duly elected.
