HOKITIKA, THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 28, 1868.
I.
JOHN HALL, Member of the Executive Council of the Colony of New Zealand, by virtue of the powers in that behalf delegated to me under the Gold Fields Act 1866 by His Excellency the Governor, do hereby authorise the occupation for seven years from the First day of January 1867 of the site upon which the tramway from Hokitika to the Arahura River, being part of the Hokitika and Greymouth Tramway, is constructed, namely, a strip of land about 3¼ miles long and 10 feet broad leading from the North Town Belt Hokitika to the Native Reserve on the south side of the Arahura River; and do further authorise the collection for the period of one year from the 1st day of March 1868 of the Tolls mentioned in the schedule hereto attached: all tolls to be levied after the 28th day of February 1869 to be fixed by notice to be published hereafter in the “County of Westland Gazette.”
Given under my hand, at Hokitika, this twenty-fifth day of February, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.

SCHEDULE.
Every Horse, Mule, Ass, or Bullock carrying a pack (with driver)... Two shillings and sixpence.
Do. without pack... One shilling.
Sheep, Goats, or Pigs in quantities not exceeding 100... each Threepence.
Do. exceeding 100... each Twopence.
Sawn Timber per 100 ft. superficial... Two shillings.
Shingles per 1000... Five shillings.
General Merchandise, per ton... Thirty shillings.
Truck load of sheep, being not less than 20, each... One shilling.
Carcasses, per lb... One halfpenny.
Coals, per ton... Twenty shillings.
Passengers, per mile... Ninepence.
Foot passengers crossing bridges... Sixpence.

JOHN HALL, Member of the Executive Council of the Colony of New Zealand, by virtue of the powers in that behalf delegated to me under the Gold Fields Act 1866 by His Excellency the Governor, do hereby authorise the occupation for one year from the 1st day of March 1868 of the site upon which the track known as Card’s North Track is constructed, being a strip of land about 3¼ miles long and 15 feet broad, commencing at Card’s Store at the forks of the New River, proceeding up the north branch of the New River and ending at German Terrace: and I hereby authorise the collection of the Tolls mentioned in the schedule hereto annexed for the period of one year from the 1st day of March 1868.
