Block No. XVI. (Suburban).
Commencing at the intersection of the Western boundary of Reserve No. 6 (in red) by the Kakawaun Creek, thence Southerly along the Western boundary of said Reserve a distance of eighty-five chains, thence at a right angle to the Paroa Lagoon; and Northerly along the lagoon to its junction with Kakawaun Creek, and up the said creek to the commencing point.
ARAHURA DISTRICT.
Block No. XVII. (Suburban).
Commencing at a point on the Stafford Direct Road, the same being five chains distant from the Beach, thence on a bearing of 20° (magnetic) to Waima Creek, thence Easterly up the said creek to its intersection by Reserve No. 7 (in red), thence Southerly along the Western boundary of the said Reserve to the Stafford Direct Road, and Westerly along the said Road to the commencing point.
Block No. XVIII. (First-class Rural)
Bounded on the North by Block No. VIII.; on the West by Hokitika River; on the South by a line one mile from, and parallel to, the North boundary; and on the East by a line one mile from, and generally parallel to, Hokitika River.
Exclusive of Reserves.
TOTARA DISTRICT.
Block No. XIX. (Suburban)
Bounded on the Northward by the Ross Direct Road for a distance of thirty-five chains; on the Eastward by a line bearing 227° (magnetic) for a distance of eighty-seven chains; on the Southward by a line bearing 300° 30' (magnetic) to the sea coast; and on the Westward by the sea coast.
Exclusive of all Reserves.
WHEREAS by the twenty-ninth Section of "The Gold Fields Act, 1866," it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor in Council to demise for mining purposes to any person for any term not exceeding fifteen years from the making of the lease any auriferous Crown Lands not exceeding ten acres in the whole of alluvial ground, and to grant sites for machinery, and any necessary easements for the purposes aforesaid, subject nevertheless to the conditions or provisions in the said section contained.
And whereas His Excellency Sir George Ferguson Bowen, the Governor of New Zealand, did, on the eighth day of July, 1868, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the Colony, delegate to me, the Honourable James Alexander Bonar, a member of the Legislative Council, the power vested in him by the said twenty-ninth Section of "The Gold Fields Act, 1866":
Now, therefore, I, James Alexander Bonar, a member of the Legislative Council of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers vested in me in that behalf, do hereby give notice that on the twenty-fourth day of August, 1868, I intend to demise to the persons named in the Schedule A hereto annexed, certain auriferous Crown Lands of alluvial ground, for the term specified in the said Schedule.
Given under my hand, at Hokitika, this tenth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.
