The Return of Sheep for the present year unfortunately shows a considerable amount of scab, as compared with previous years. The infected sheep have been shorn, and every exertion is being made to eradicate the disease; at the same time care is being taken to prevent its further spread.

The fine weather now setting in will facilitate the operations for cleaning the infected flocks, and there is every prospect of the disease being effectually overcome.

R. D. WALLACE,
Inspector of Sheep Wellington and West Coast Districts.

Sheep Inspector’s Office,
Wellington, 28th November, 1875.
