Proclamation.

By His Honor William Fitzherbert, Esquire, C.M.G., Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, in the Colony of New Zealand.

I, WILLIAM FITZHERBERT, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, do hereby, in pursuance of the Regulations in this behalf, proclaim and notify that the several allotments of land, situated in the township of Featherston, in the Wairarapa District, in the Province of Wellington, and which are specified in the Schedule hereto, except such as may be reserved under the provision hereinafter mentioned, will be put up for sale by public auction, at the Crown Lands Office, in the City of Wellington, on Monday, the twentieth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five, at 12 o’clock noon.

If at any time during the sale it shall appear to the Commissioner of Crown Lands beneficial or expedient to the public service to reserve from sale either of the sections specified in the said Schedule, or to vary the order in which they are to be put up, he is hereby authorised to do so.

Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Wellington, at Wellington, this eleventh day of November, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five.

SCHEDULE.

Notice.

THE following are the boundaries of Ward No. 1 of the Featherston Highway District, and of Ward No. 5 of the Masterton Highway District, as amended in accordance with a Proclamation issued by His Honor the Superintendent on Friday, the 22nd day of October, 1875, and published in the Provincial Government Gazette of October 23rd, 1875, No. 31.

Featherston Highway District.

Amended description of Ward No. 1.

Bounded towards the North and North-east by a line West magnetic from the source of the Waiohine River to the summit of the Tararua Ranges, by the Waiohine River from its source to the Ruamahanga River, by the Pohatariki stream, and by lines so as to include sections Nos. 56, 58, 60, 61, 38 and 40 Ahiaruhe Block; towards the East by the Ruamahanga and Wangaehu Rivers; towards the South by the Wangaehu and Huangarua River, by lines so as to include sections Nos. 36, 20, 23, 24, 25, 26, 77, 75, 62, and 9, Morea Block, by the Tauherenikau River, and by a line West magnetic from the source of the said River to the summit of the Tararua Ranges; and towards the West by the Tauherenikau River and by the summit of the Tararua Ranges.

Masterton Highway District.

Amended description of Ward No. 5.

Bounded towards the North by the Taueru River, and by the southern boundaries of Ward No. 4; towards the East by a line bearing about 197 deg. magnetic from the South-east corner of Ward No. 4 to the Pahaua River; towards the South by the Northern boundaries of the Featherston Highway District, as amended per Proclamation, 22nd October, 1875; towards the West by the Wangaehu and Ruamahanga Rivers.
