Proclamation

By His Honor William Fitzherbert
Esquire, C. M. G., Superintendent
of the Province of Wellington, in the Colony of New Zealand.

WHEREAS by the eighty-fifth section of "The Highways Act, 1874," of the Provincial Council of Wellington, it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent from time to time by Proclamation in the Government Gazette of the Province, to declare that all roads and bridges, or any portion or portions thereof, which have been or shall hereafter be constructed or maintained out of moneys heretofore or hereafter appropriated by the Provincial Council of Wellington, shall be main roads and shall be subject to the provisions of "The Toll-Gates Act, 1871," and any Act amending the same or substituted in the place thereof.

Now, therefore I, William Fitzherbert, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, do hereby proclaim and declare that the portion of the Te Kopi District Road, situated in the Featherston Highway District, in the District of Wairarapa, more particularly described in the Schedule hereto, having been constructed out of moneys appropriated by the Provincial Council of Wellington, shall be and is subject to the provisions of "The Toll-Gates Act, 1871," "The Toll-Gates Act Amendment Act, 1872," and "The Toll-Gates Act Amendment Act, 1873."

Given under my hand and issued under the public seal of the Province of Wellington, at Wellington, this first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.

Schedule

The bridge over the Ruamahanga River at Waihenga, and a portion of the road extending to 60 chains from each extremity of such bridge.

Warrant

I, William Fitzherbert, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, do hereby appoint Mr. James Barnes to be Toll-gate Keeper at the Toll-gate at the Bridge over the Ruamahanga River, at Waihenga, in the District of Wairarapa.

Given under my hand at Wellington, this first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.

Proclamation

By His Honor William Fitzherbert, Esq., C.M.G., Superintendent of the Province of Wellington in the Colony of New Zealand.

WHEREAS the Toll-Gate mentioned in the Schedule hereto has been erected, and a keeper thereof duly appointed for the collection of tolls under the provisions of "The Toll-Gates Act, 1871," and "An Act to amend the Acts of the Superintendent and Provincial Council Relating to Toll-Gates," Session XXII, No. 8, or under the provisions of one of the said Acts respectively.

Now, therefore I, William Fitzherbert, by virtue of the powers vested in me under the said Acts or any of them in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that Tolls shall be levied at the Toll-Gate mentioned in the Schedule hereunder written, on and after the first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.

Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Wellington, this first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.
