Bye-Law No. 4.

BYE-LAW of the Council of the Borough of Wanganui made under special order of the said Council, dated the Twenty-second day of July, One thousand eight hundred and seventy-three, confirmed the Twenty-second day of August, One thousand eight hundred and seventy-three, and sealed with the common seal of the said Borough this Twenty-second day of August, One thousand eight hundred and seventy-three.

In pursuance of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1867, and "The Wanganui Bridge and Wharf Act, 1872," the Council of the Borough of Wanganui ordain as follows, that is to say—

The Regulations numbers 3 and 5 contained in the second schedule to "The Wanganui Bridge and Wharf Act, 1872," and hereby repealed, and the following enacted in lieu thereof, that is to say—

  1. For all goods, excepting wool, flax, and tow, if stored there, shall be paid one shilling and sixpence per ton, and for wool, flax, and tow, sixpence per bale, such charge to include labor of receiving to or from ships sides, and seven days’ storage; after that time, storage for wool, flax, and tow to be sixpence per bale per week, and for other goods, two shillings per week.

  2. The wharfinger shall be responsible for all bonded goods landed on the wharf until 3 p.m., and all free and duty-paid goods until 4 p.m. On all goods landed after that hour, he shall, in addition to the usual wharfage, be allowed to make a charge of one shilling per ton on the owner or master of the vessel from which the goods are landed. All goods not removed from the wharf by 5 p.m. may be stored by the wharfinger, and he shall be allowed to make a charge for storage on such goods of two shillings per ton per week, or any part of a week, exclusive of carting. Provided that all goods landed on the borough wharf shall be free of storage charges for twenty-four hours after landing.

The above mentioned charges to include labor.

Notice.

WHEREAS the Board of Wardens, of the Masterton Highway District, purpose taking thirteen acres of land, more or less, under "The Highway Boards Empowering Act, 1871," for the formation of a road from the Taueru River, to Wainuioru, crossing sections 514, 604, 538, 546, and 557, in No. 5 Ward of the said District.

Notice is hereby given that a Plan showing the proposed line of road has been deposited with the Secretary of the Board, at Masterton, for inspection, and all persons affected by the proposed undertaking, are requested to set forth in writing addressed to the Board, all objections which they may have to the same, within forty days from the publication of this notice.
