Proclamation.
By His Honor William Fitzherbert,
Esquire, C.M.G., Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, in the Colony of New Zealand.
WHEREAS it has been notified to me under the hand of the Chairman of the Wanganui and Waitotara Highway Board, that the piece or parcel of land described in the Schedule hereto has been purchased by the said Board for the purpose of constructing thereon a road under the provisions of "The Highways Act 1871," and "The Highways Act Amendment Act 1873." Now I, William Fitzherbert, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, do hereby proclaim the said piece or parcel of land described in the said Schedule to be a public highway for the purposes of the said "Highways Act 1871," and "The Highways Act Amendment Act 1873."
SCHEDULE.
"ALL that parcel of land containing by admeasurement two (2) acres one (1) rood and eighteen (18) perches, and being part of the section numbered forty-four (44) on the official map or plan of the Waitotara District in the Province of Wellington aforesaid, and bounded on the West by another portion of Section No. 44, from which it is divided by a straight line of fence commencing at the south side of the...
Great North Western Road of Wellington Province at a point 527 links measured Eastward along the said road from the eastern boundary of the Nukumaru Native Reserve, and running southwards a distance of 3947 links till it strikes the centre line of the road line originally intended as the course of the said North Western Road, and so shown on the original maps of the Waitotara District at a point 579 links from the eastern boundary of the said Native Reserve measured eastward along the said centre line; on the South for a distance of 71 links or thereabouts by another portion of said Section No. 44, from which it is separated by a fence running along the centre line just described; on the East by part of said section No. 44, from which it is separated for a distance of 3931 links by a line running northwards parallel to the first described line of fence at a distance of 60 links therefrom, and terminating at the south side of the Great North Western Road; and on the North for 65 links or thereabouts by the said road."
Given under my hand and issued under the public seal of the Province of Wellington, at Wellington, this twenty-sixth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three.
