has been elected a member of the Edu-
cation Board for the district of Feather-
ston.

I THE Undersigned, Superintendent
of the Province of Wellington, do
hereby approve of the City Council Regu-
lations as published in the Provincial
Government Gazette, dated the 24th day
of September, 1872.

Proclamation.
By His Honor William Fitzherbert,
Esquire, C.M.G., Superintendent
of the Province of Wel-
lington in the Colony of New Zealand.
WHEREAS by Section 38 of "The
Protection of Animals Act 1867"
it is enacted that the Governor may by
order in Council published in the New
Zealand Gazette, from time to time dele-
gate to the Superintendent, or Executive
of any Province or to any other person or
persons within the said Colony, all or any
of the powers by the said Act vested in
the Governor or Governor in Council,
subject to such regulations as he may
think fit.
And whereas the Governor did, by
Proclamation published in the New Zea-
land Gazette, dated the twelfth day of
February, 1873, delegate the said powers
to William Fitzherbert, Esq., Superinten-
dent of the Province of Wellington, so
long as he shall continue and remain
Superintendent of the said Province, to
be exercised only in the said Province.
And whereas by the 11th Section of
"The Protection of Animals Act 1867,"
it is enacted that no game shall be hunted,
shot, taken, or killed, in any part of
the Colony, until the same shall have been
proclaimed as open for that purpose by
order in Council, in that behalf, and no
game shall be hunted, shot, taken, or
killed, except during the months of May,
June, or July, in any year; and whereas
by the 4th Section of the "The Protection
of Animals Act 1872," it is further
enacted that so much of Section 11 of
"The Protection of Animals Act 1867"
as permits game to be hunted, shot,
taken, or killed, during the month of July
is hereby repealed.
Now, therefore, I, William Fitzherbert,
Superintendent of the Province of Wel-
lington, do hereby proclaim and declare
that game shall be open to be hunted,
shot, taken, or killed, within the Province
of Wellington, during the months of May
and June, according to the above recited
provisions of the said Act.

lington, this twenty-sixth day of
April, one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-three.
