A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by “The Bridges and Ferries Act 1868 Amendment Act, 1869,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, by Proclamation in the New Zealand Gazette, declare “The Bridges and Ferries Act, 1868,” to be in operation in any province, and on a day to be fixed in such Proclamation “The Bridges and Ferries Act, 1868,” shall come into operation in such Province: And whereas it is expedient that the said last-mentioned Act should be brought into operation in the Province of Wellington, as and in manner hereinafter mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, Sir George Ferguson Bowen, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the said first-mentioned Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that, on the twenty-seventh day of March, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two, “The Bridges and Ferries Act, 1868,” shall be in operation in the Province of Wellington.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir George Ferguson Bowen, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same, at the Government House, at Wellington; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, this twenty-seventh day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two.

JAMES STRANG,

of Glenside Run, Wairarapa, Stockowner, to kill wild cattle, the property of the Government of the Province, on his run.
