Bye-Law of the Council of the Borough of Wellington.
Made under the provisions of "The Municipal Corporations Act 1867" and "The Municipal Corporations Acts Amendment Act, 1871."
IN pursuance of Section 181 of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1867" and of Section 3 of "The Municipal Corporations Acts Amendment Act 1871" the Council of the Borough of Wellington ordain as follows (that is to say)
The several provisions of the Thirteenth Schedule to "The Municipal Corporations Act 1867" are hereby adopted in and for the said Borough.
All bye-laws or regulations or parts of bye-laws or regulations heretofore in force in and for the said Borough of Wellington which are inconsistent with or repugnant to the provisions of the said Thirteenth Schedule are hereby repealed.
Passed by the said Council this twelfth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two.
The Seal of the Borough has been affixed hereto this twelfth day (L.S.) of January, 1872, pursuant to special order of the Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-fourth day of January, 1872.
Present :
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR,
IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by "The Wellington Debts Act, 1871," it is, among other things, enacted that the Wellington Savings Bank shall, from and after such day as shall be fixed for the purpose in and by an Order in Council, be deemed to be finally closed within the meaning of the provisions of "The Post Office Savings Banks Amendment Act, 1869," as in the said Act mentioned: And whereas it is expedient that a day should be fixed for the purpose of giving effect to the hereinbefore recited provisions of the said Act :
Now therefore, His Excellency Sir George Ferguson Bowen, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance of the provisions of the said first mentioned Act, and in exercise of every power or authority enabling him in that behalf, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Colony, doth hereby fix the first day of February, 1872, as the day from and after which the Wellington Savings Bank shall be deemed to be finally closed, as provided by the said Act.
