Sir,—I have the honor to forward you the Annual Return of Sheep for the Wanganui District for the year ending May, 1872, which shows an increase of 10,748.
Although, I am unable to report the eradication of Scab this year, as I had hoped to do there is actually less Scab in the District, than at the last report, and the only two Flocks reported as Scabby will, I believe, both receive a certificate on the next Inspection.
I have, &c.

Inspector of Sheep.
