Public Notice.

Crown Lands Office,
Wellington, 20th Sept., 1872.

NOTICE is hereby given that a Meeting of the Waste Lands Board will be held at this office on Wednesday, the 25th instant, at twelve o’clock noon.

City Council Regulations.

We, the Mayor and Councillors of the City of Wellington, pursuant to the powers and provisions contained in “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1867,” do make and ordain the following Regulations:—

No. 1.

A REGULATION made under authority of Section 4, Sub-division 1, Part 1, of Schedule 13, of said Act, “For regulating the height from the ground, shape, figure, dimensions and material of porticos.”

  1. No portico shall be of less height than nine feet from the kerb to the soffite of the fascia, measured in the centre of the portico; nor higher than nine feet, unless the permission of the City Council has been first obtained in either case.

No. 9.

  1. All porticos shall be erected in accordance with plan and specification deposited in the office of the Town Clerk, and shall be constructed to the satisfaction of the City Council.

A REGULATION made under the authority of Section 14, Sub-division 3, Part 1, of Schedule 13, of said Act, “For regulating the formation, &c., of drains to be laid under any footway or channel.”

  1. All drains under footways shall be constructed with iron pipes, or plain glazed earthenware, not exceeding four inches in internal diameter, and shall be laid with a fall of not less than three inches in nine feet, the level at the discharge mouth being the level of the water channel.

  2. The kerbing shall be neatly cut with a circular hole of the same size as the outer diameter of the pipe to receive the end of the pipe.

  3. The footway opened up for the reception of the pipe, shall be made good with the same material as that of which it is constructed.

  4. No drain under a footway and discharging into the channel shall be laid for any other purpose than for carrying off surface water, whether from yards or roofs.

No. 3.

A REGULATION made under the authority of Section 26, Sub-division 4, Part 1, of Schedule 13, of said Act, “For regulating the formation, &c., of crossings across or over the footways or channels.”

  1. No crossing shall be more or less than nine feet long in the direction of the street.
