PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor William Fitzherbert,
Esquire, Superintendent of the
Province of Wellington, in the
Colony of New Zealand.

I WILLIAM FITZHERBERT, Superintendant of the Province of Wellington, in the Colony of New Zealand,
by virtue of the powers delegated to me
in this behalf, under the provisions of the
Act of the General Assembly, shortly
intituled “The Bridges and Ferries Act
1868 Amendment Act 1869,” do hereby
proclaim and appoint that the several
amounts of tolls set forth in the Schedule
hereto, shall be the amount of tolls to be
charged and levied at any bridge or ferry
established or to be established under the
provisions of the Acts of the General
Assembly shortly intituled “The Bridges
and Ferries Act 1868” and “The Bridges
and Ferries Act 1868 Amendment Act
1869.”

Province of Wellington, at
Wellington, this fourth day of
June, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two.

PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor William Fitzherbert,
Esquire, Superintendent
of the Province of Wellington,
in the Colony of New Zealand.

WHEREAS by an Act of the General
Assembly of New Zealand intituled
“An Act to provide for the establishment
of Municipal Corporations, 1867,” it is
enacted that the Superintendent may, if
he shall have received a petition to that
effect signed by one-fourth of the number
of persons liable to be rated under this
Act in respect of rateable property in
any such borough, and if it shall seem fit
to do, may by proclamation divide the
borough into three separate Wards by such
names and with such boundaries respectively as shall by such proclamation be
assigned to the same. Now, therefore I,
William Fitzherbert, Superintendent of
the Province of Wellington, with the
advice and consent of the Executive
Council thereof, and in the exercise of the
power and authority for this purpose in
me vested, do hereby proclaim and declare
the Borough of Wanganui, in the Province
of Wellington, to be divided into Three
Wards described as follows (that is to
say):—

Cook’s Ward.

Bounded towards the north-east by the
centre of Victoria Avenue, from the
Wanganui river to the centre of Ingestre
street; towards the north-west, first by
the centre of Ingestre street from the
centre of Victoria Avenue to the centre
of Asylum road, thence by the centre of
Asylum road to the centre of the roadway
separating the race-course reserve from
blocks 18, 19, and 20 of the Town Belt,
and thence by the centre of the said
roadway to the road reserve along the
south-west side of the Town Belt; towards
the south-west by the road reserve along
the south-west side of the Town Belt; and
towards the south-east by the Wanganui
River.

Queens Ward.

Bounded towards the south-west by the
centre of Victoria Avenue from the
Wanganui river to the centre of Ingestre
street; towards the north-west by the
centre of Ingestre street, from the centre
of Victoria Avenue to the Wanganui
river; and towards the north-east and
south-east by the Wanganui River.

St. John’s Ward.

Bounded towards the south-east first
by the centre of Ingestre street from the
Wanganui river to the centre of Asylum
road, thence by the centre of Asylum
road to the centre of the roadway
separating the race-course reserve from
blocks 18, 19, and 20 of the Town Belt,
and thence by the centre of the said roadway
the road reserve along the south-
west side of the Town Belt; towards the
south-west by the road reserve along the
south-west side of the Town Belt;
towards the north-west by the road reserve
along the north-west side of the Town Belt;
and towards the north-east partly by the
country section No. 19, right bank, and
partly by the Wanganui river.
