IT has been notified to this office that at a Meeting of Ratepayers of the above District held at the Makara School House on the 1st instant, the following were elected a Board of Wardens for the ensuing Two Years :

,, P. Monaghan, Chairman
and that Mr. Joseph McLeavey has been appointed Collector of Rates to the said Board.

Makara Pioneer Quartz Reef Gold Mining Company.
I, THE undersigned BENJAMIN SMITH, hereby make application to register "The Makara Pioneer Quartz Reef Gold Mining Company, Registered," under the provisions of "The Mining Companies Limited Liability Act, 1865," and I do solemnly and sincerely declare that the following statement is, to the best of my belief and knowledge, true in every particular, namely :-

The name and style of the company is "The Makara Pioneer Quartz Reef Gold Mining Company, Registered."

The place of intended operations is at Terawiti in the Province of Wellington.

The nominal capital of the company is Three hundred and Twenty Pounds in Thirty-two Shares of Ten Pounds each, sixteen of which shares are reserved for working members of the Company.

The amount already paid up is Thirty-two Pounds.
