Sheep Inspector’s Report.

THE Inspector of Sheep in the Wairarapa and East Coast District reports that he has granted clean certificates to

Mr. W. Corp, Taratahi.

Mr. W. Mitchell, Taratahi.

and cancelled the clean certificates held by

Mr. John O’Meara,

Messrs Cundy,

,, Darcey,

,, Cameron and Miller,

,, Wingate,

,, Knight,

,, Leach,

scabby sheep from the flocks of Messrs McMasters and Brannigan having mixed with their flocks.

Quarantine Ground and Lazaret.

PROVINCE OF WELLINGTON,

NOTICE.

I ISAAC EARL FEATHERSTON, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, do hereby in compliance with the recommendation of the Board of Health for the Port of Port Nicholson, appoint Soames’ Island within the Harbour of Port Nicholson to be a station or place for the performance of Quarantine and where the crew, passengers and other persons and the goods, wares and merchandize from and on board vessels liable to Quarantine shall and may be detained, landed and kept for the performance of Quarantine.

Dated this twenty-first day of December 1868.

Quarantine Ground and Lazaret.

NOTICE.

IN compliance with the recommendation of the Board of Health I hereby appoint the two cottages in Evans’ Bay, situate on part of Section No. 8 in the Evans’ Bay District, and the land comprised within an arc of two hundred yards radius from them as a centre to be a Lazaret and Quarantine Ground.

Western Hutt Highway District.

Provincial Secretary’s Office,
Wellington, 24th December, 1868.

NOTICE has been given to this office that at a meeting of Ratepayers held on Saturday, 19th inst, a rate of threepence per acre was levied for construction, and ninepence per acre for repairs was voted for the ensuing year; that

Messrs. JOHN LEVERTON and PETER SPEEDY

were elected Wardens to fill the place of

Messrs D. McEWEN and ROBERT PRICE

resigned, and that

Messrs. DAVID SPEEDY and GEORGE FARMER

were elected Auditors for the ensuing two years.
