Public Notice.

Crown Land’s Office,
Wellington, 13th July, 1868.

NOTICE is hereby given that 14 Sections in the Morea, Turanganui and Rangitumau Blocks, and in the settlement of Masterton in the Wairarapa district; in the Taueru Block in the East Coast district; and in the Porirua district, will be put up for sale by public auction, at the Crown Lands Office, Wellington, on Tuesday, the 18th day of August next, at one o’clock, p.m.

Notice is also given that a Block of land on the Wangaehu river, Wairarapa, containing about 390 acres, will be open for selection and purchase on and after Monday, the 17th day of August next, under the Land Regulations of the province.

Plans of the land are open for inspection at this office.

Native Title extinguished over Lands in the Wairarapa.

NOTICE.—His Excellency the Governor of this Colony has been pleased to direct the notification to be made for public information that, pursuant to the powers in that behalf delegated to and vested in him, His Excellency has been pleased to accept the conveyances hereinafter mentioned of blocks of land from aboriginal Native inhabitants of New Zealand to Her Majesty the Queen, that is to say,—from Wiremu Tinitara Te Kaewa and Karaitiana Korou, aboriginal Natives of the tribe Ngatikaungunu, a conveyance of all that block or pieces of land, situated at Wairarapa and named Wangaehu, bounded towards the North by Native land, and by disputed land from the Wangaehu River to Taungatara and Pukawa; towards the East by Native land from Pukawa to Purupuru; towards the South partly by Crown land and partly by Native lands, from Purupuru to the Wangaehu River; and towards the West by the Wangaehu River.

From Karaitiana Korou and Erihapeti Whekairae, aboriginal Natives of the tribe Ngatikahunghu, a conveyance of all that block or piece of land situated at Wairarapa, and named Te Kohutu, bounded towards the north-west by a public road separating it from the Masterton Small Farm Reserve: towards the north-east by the Makaura Stream; towards the south-east by Native land; towards the south-west by the Kurupuni stream.

THE following Bill passed by the Provincial Council, and reserved by the Superintendent of the Province of Wellington for the signification of the Governor’s pleasure thereon, intituled

“An Act to authorize the Superintendent to raise by way of mortgage, a sum not exceeding £25,000 on the Unreclaimed Land in the Harbour, granted to him under ‘The Public Reserves Act, 1854,’”

having been laid before the Governor, His Excellency has been pleased to assent to the same.
