Fencing Act, Opaki, Wairarapa
PROCLAMATION.
By His Honor Isaac Earl
Featherston, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province
of Wellington, in the Colony
of New Zealand.
WHEREAS by an Act of the Provincial Council of the Province of
Wellington, Session I., No. 13, intituled,
"An Act to make further provisions relative to Fencing within Districts of the
Province," it is enacted that the Superintendent, whenever it shall appear to him
expedient so to do, may by Proclamation
declare that the said Act shall come into
operation within any town or district of
the Province; and by the same proclamation declare the limits of such town or
district.
Now therefore, I, Isaac Earl
Featherston, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, do hereby proclaim
and declare that the said Act of the
Provincial Council of the Province of
Wellington shall come into operation
within such part of the District of Wairarapa as is comprised within the following boundaries, namely — Bounded
towards the North and East by the Ruamahanga River; towards the South and
West by the Waipoua River, and towards
the North West by a line from the Ruamahanga to the Waipoua along the South
side of Paul’s land at Pairau, as defined
in the plan drawn hereon or hereunto
annexed.

Karori School District.
PROCLAMATION.
By His Honor Isaac Earl
Featherston, Esq., Superintendent of the Province of
Wellington, in the Colony of
New Zealand.
WHEREAS by an Act of the Second
Session of the Provincial Council
of Wellington, No. 6, intituled "An Act
to Promote the Establishment of Common
Schools in the Province of Wellington,"
it is enacted that, for the purposes of the
said Act, it should be lawful for the Superintendent by Proclamation to divide
the Province into Districts and from
time to time to sub-divide such Districts
and to re-unite any sub-divisions. And
also, by Proclamation, to declare that the
said Act should come into operation
within such District or sub-division at
such time as he might appoint. And
whereas it is deemed expedient to proclaim
that portion of the Province of Wellington within the boundaries hereinafter set
forth to be a District for the purposes of
the said Act. Now therefore I, Isaac
Earl Featherston, Superintendent of the
Province of Wellington, in virtue of the
power and authority vested in me in this
behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare
that such portion of the said Province as
is comprised within the boundaries following, shall form and constitute a District
for the purposes of the said Act to
be called the "Karori School District,"
viz. — Bounded towards the North by
the northern boundary of John Thompson’s and William Quilter’s selections,
and by the western boundary of Sections
Nos. 33, 31, and 30, Karori District:
East by the eastern boundary of Sections
Nos. 30 and 29, and thence by the
southern boundary of Sections Nos. 29
and 32 to the Kai Warra Warra Stream:
again towards the East by the Kai Warra
Warra Stream to its junction with the
western boundary of Section No. 7 Upper
Kai Warra Warra District, thence along
the said western boundary to the S.W.
corner and along part of the southern
boundary of Section No. 7 aforesaid to
the N.W. corner of James Short’s 200
acre selection, thence along W. boundary
of said selection to its south-western
corner: South by a line from the said
S.W. corner of James Short’s 200 acre
selection to the S.E. corner of Section
No. 1, Makara District: West by the
eastern boundary of the South Makara
District and by a portion of the eastern
boundary of the North Makara District
to the aforesaid northern boundary of
John Thompson’s eighty acre selection.
As the said District and boundaries are
more particularly delineated and described
in the plan drawn or endorsed hereon and
thereon colored red. And also that the
said Act shall come into operation within
such District on the day and the date
hereof.
