Notice to Masters and Owners of Steamships and others.

I have the honor to inform you that Buoys have been laid down in Evans’ Bay and all the necessary arrangements made for swinging ships to ascertain the deviation of their compasses.

In the matter of the “Debtors and Creditors Act, 1862,” and the “Debtors and Creditors Act Amendment Act, 1865,” and the “Debtors and Creditors Act Amendment Act, 1866;” and in the matter of the petition of
CHARLES BALURE of Nelson, in the Province of Nelson and Colony of New Zealand, Engineer, now a prisoner in Her Majesty’s Gaol at Wellington for debt,
On Friday, the fourth day of October, 1867, on reading the petition of Charles Balure, filed herein, and the several affidavits of Charles Balure and John Williams Wigzell, thereunto annexed, and upon hearing Mr. J. G. Allan, of counsel for the said petitioner, it is ordered that the said petitioner do come up for hearing at the Supreme Court Office at Wellington, on the fourteenth day of December next, at the hour of ten o’clock in the forenoon, and that a meeting of the Creditors of the said petitioner be held in the Grand Jury Room, Supreme Court House, Lambton Quay, on the twenty-eighth day of October instant, at eleven o’clock in the forenoon, for the purpose of recommending Trustees for the said Estate, and the mode of winding up the same, and that in the meantime William Robert Edward Brown, the Inspector of Bankruptcy, in the Province of Wellington, be appointed ad interim Sequestrator of the said Estate. And it is further ordered that this present order be a vesting order as provided by the Debtors and Creditors Act, 1865; provided however that nothing herein contained shall protect the person of the said Petitioner from any writ of arrest which may issue against him under the Writ of Arrest Act to the satisfaction of a Judge of this Honorable Court, or a Registrar in the absence of the Judge.
