Debtors and Creditors Acts.

IN THE SUPREME COURT OF NEW

ZEALAND--MIDDLE DISTRICT.

In the matter of "The Debtors
and Creditors Act, 1862;"
and "The Debtors and Creditors Act Amendment Acts,
1865 and 1866:"

In the matter of the Petition of
Thomas Goodison, of Otaki,
in the Colony of New Zealand, Storekeeper, a bankrupt.

On Thursday, the 18th day of April, 1867:

On reading the Petition of the said Thomas Goodison filed herein, and on hearing Robert Suckling Cheesman, of Wellington, Solicitor, as of Counsel for the said Petitioner. It is ordered that the said Petition be accepted, and that the said Petitioner do come up for hearing at the Supreme Court House at Wellington, on Wednesday, the eighth day of May next, at the hour of ten o’clock in the forenoon, and that a meeting of the Creditors of the said Petitioner be held in the Grand Jury Room at Wellington, on Wednesday, the 24th day of April, 1867, at the hour of eleven o’clock in the forenoon, for the purpose of recommending Trustees for the said estate, and the mode of winding up the same; and that in the meantime William Robert Edward Brown, an Inspector of Bankruptcy, be appointed Sequestrator of the said estate and effects of the said Petitioner, for which purpose this order shall be considered a vesting order. And in the meantime, and until the further order of this Court, the person, estate and effects of the said Petitioner shall be protected from arrest, execution, or other legal process, save and except a writ of arrest or process to hold to bail under an order by a Judge or Registrar of the Supreme Court.

William Douglass Smith, of
Wellington, in the Colony of
New Zealand, Soda Water Manufacturer:

and Creditors Act, 1862;"
and "The Debtors and Creditors Act Amendment Acts,
1865 and 1866:"

On Friday, the 15th day of March, 1867:

Upon hearing Mr. R. S. Cheesman
as of Council for the Petitioner,
and upon reading the Petition aforesaid,

It is ordered that the person, estate and effects of the said Petitioner shall be protected from arrest, execution, or other legal process, save and except a writ of arrest or process to hold to bail under an order by a Judge or Registrar of the Supreme Court, until the eighth day of May next, the day appointed for hearing of the Petition filed herein; and it is further ordered that in the meantime and until the said eighth day of May next, the estate and affairs of the said William Douglass Smith be and the same are hereby accordingly placed under sequestration in the hands of William Robert Edward Brown, Inspector of Bankruptcy at Wellington. And it is hereby further ordered that a meeting of the Creditors of the said William Douglass Smith shall be held at the Grand Jury Room, Wellington, on Wednesday, the twenty-fourth day of April, 1867, and at the hour of eleven o’clock in the forenoon, for the purpose of recommending to the Court a Trustee to be appointed for the benefit of his Creditors, and of recommending the mode to be adopted for winding up the estate and effects of the said Petitioner until the said eighth day of May next, and to consider the several questions, matters and things relating to or concerning the estate and affairs of the said Petitioner, and the measures desirable for winding up his estate, and to make such recommendations to the said Court touching the same as shall be agreed upon at such meeting; that the Petitioner appear for examination before this honourable Court on the eighth day of May next, at ten o’clock in the forenoon, at the Supreme Court House, Wellington, aforesaid.
